“We bought this vac for two reasons. We have one of those Sears Kenmore portable blue vacs of which this Cirrus is a conspicuous clone and the Sears vac has served us well for years but is no longer made…. so we did the research and read the reviews. On the strength of those reviews, we bought this one for our cabin
Right out of the box, the differences were obvious. The hose is a very cheap and inflexible plastic thing, short and would be way too easy to kink. The various fittings are a joke, some of them looking like they were designed to clean a child’s doll house. The floor-cleaning fitting is small and chintzy-looking. So then I plugged a hose into the very nice looking main unit, turn it on, and wow – very quiet! Well, seems that it was set on the lowest speed. At that speed, the suction at the business-end of the hose was barely perceptible. So I turned it up. The noise was near deafening and the suction was still unimpressive.
OK, I’m comparing it to our old Kenmore blue vac of about the same size and specifications, and maybe that’s not fair? Well, our bottom line is that this new Cirrus is on its way back to Amazon and we’ll start over on our search.”
